What darlings... Our nanny just took a bunch of shots of Alexander hugging his playmate, Siena. It is SO wonderful to see such open expressions of affection. I was telling my mother the other evening how much I worry about Alex losing that openess... especially as a boy. I think of it as a little flame that needs sheltering and protecting as he gets bigger. It feels so important to nurture this loving side of our sons.

Adorable! When Joel was little we could figure out "Arah" was Sarah, but he called Stephen "BawBaw" and Ben was "Dee-zhou." Never figured out the BawBaw origin, but one day I was calling down to Ben from upstairs to the basement, and I asked, "Ben, did you finish your paper? and a few second later, " and Ben, did you switch the laundry over?" Joel heard "Ben, did you--" and thought Ben's NAME was "did you" which came out "deezhou". Sad but true.

My twins called each other "gon" and "dird". We have no idea why. I asked them why when they could talk and Caleb said, "we didn't know what each other's names were". so funny. I'm glad i have video of them using their twin names.
The pics are absolutely adorable! And you captured that age just perfectly in your last sentence. :)

I love it. The "frame" in my head following that sweet embrace is of one of them throwing the other down to the ground. That's usually how it ends up here. ;)

Please let us keep them for you again soon. We love your little guys!
