Rainy Day Soundtrack

August 30, 2008

On gray rainy days, I love listening to certain music for some reason. George Winston, Yo-Yo Ma, or The Piano soundtrack are some favorites. The Piano isn’t necessarily my favorite soundtrack of all time, it’s a little too heart-breaking, but I love it on a rainy day. The solo piano pieces are incredible while the symphonic score soars.

What is one of your favorite soundtracks?

I have fallen in love with the both the “Patriot” and the “Pride and Prejudice” soundtracks. I actually at times use them to fall asleep too.

I love “Pride and Prejudice”! I’ve never heard “The Patriot”. I’ll see if the library has it.

Funny you mention falling to sleep to music. I used to love that, but Josh can’t sleep to music, so I only do that when he’s away! I used to love to fall asleep to Enya! :)

One of my favorites is the “Little Women” soundtrack. I especially love it during the fall when I’m baking in the kitchen. I also love George Winston too….I think my favorite albums are Summer and The Plains.

Oh Em, I don’t own the “Little Women” soundtrack, but I remember from the movie that I really like it. Maybe I could borrow that sometime?

It’s not a soundtrack, but I absolutely love listening to Toots Thielemans, “Chez Toots” CD. It’s French and instrumental, complete with “La Vie en Rose”. LOVE IT!

That and I’ll sometimes pop in my “Schindler’s List” soundtrack. It’s mournful, mellow, and has beautiful violin solos by Itzak Perlman. Having seen him perform once makes me love it even more.

Will have to check if our library has the Little Women soundtrack. I’ve got the movie.

I love the soundtrack to “The Last of the Mohicans.” I also enjoy the soundtrack to “Garden State” and an occasional round of “Newsies” is great for the soul…

I’ll try to make a copy of it for you Danielle. I had a hard time coming across it myself.

I too like Pride and Prejudice, The Misson, Emma, at least for the quiet type soundtracks.
