Scarf
I’m very happy to have finally finished my first knitting project. This scarf is a dark green (it’s hard to tell in this picture) and has cream pockets sewn on it. I think I started this about four years ago, can you believe it! I know it was before Josh and I were together, and we’ll be celebrating our third anniversary this summer, so four years sounds about right. I wish I’d chosen a quicker project to have started with, to gratify the feeling of accomplishing something sooner. My next projects will have chunkier yarn and bigger needles to make it go faster. But I think I’ll break for the summer and start again in September, with Christmas projects in mind (so I’ll really have to not take four years next time!).
You ARE every woman, aren’t you?
Hee hee.
The only thing that made me feel a little bit better about the fact that you knit ON TOP of everything else you can do is that it took you 4 years to finish it.
Cool lookin’ scarf, though..like the pockets.
It’s so cute, Danielle! Love the pockets on it too.
Wow D! I think that maybe you should switch to crocheting! It is ALOT faster!
Love the pockets. Love the fact that it took you the normal lady’s lenght of time to finish a project. I won’t hold my breath that you’ll be able to knit when twins come along. Not to discourage you, but most of us who had little babies thought a “project” means getting a shower in before hubby came home from work.:)
You are good…very cool ! LOVE the pockets
Ha ha, Sacha, it shouldn’t take 4 years to knit a scarf. If I’d been crocheting, it probably would have taken me just as long! I realize my post kind of sounded like it took 4 years of consistent work, but I worked in fits and starts, sometimes not working on it for months!
Bethany’s way better than me. She taught herself how to knit this year and has already done 2 scarves and a purse!!
Very cool scarf, although it wasn’t fair of you to show everyone my Christmas present. HA!
Reality check!
You might want to start your Christmas presents NOW. I’m not sure how do-able that will be…. at least get a plan going now.
So cute. Love the scarf. Yours looked harder than mine with the pockets and such. Okay my kids are older now so I have a little more time…and I do a lot of traveling in which I have taken my knitting but I know when baby comes my arms will be filled with her and knitting will be on hold for awhile…unless I can figure out a way to do it nursing….HEE HEE. But she might be my last so I might just want to sit and stare at her while she nurses. All this to say if you want to do Christmas projects start now because the other ladies are right with little babies getting a shower WILL probably be the extent of your projects I know it will be for me. HEE HEE.
thicker yarn and larger needles is definitly a good thing; makes it go soooo much faster!
